Compress PDF to KB
Shrink a PDF to an exact size limit.
Shrink a PDF until it fits an exact size limit — 100KB, 500KB, 1MB, 2MB — rather than compressing blindly and re-checking. Useful for exam form uploads, college and visa portals, and email attachment caps that reject anything over a stated size.
Pages are re-rendered as images at progressively lower quality until the file fits, so text stops being selectable.
Files are processed on your device — never uploaded.
Supported formats
Accepts standard PDF files (.pdf). Password-protected PDFs need unlocking first with Unlock PDF.
Things to know
A text-only PDF is often already near its minimum size and may not reach an aggressive target at all — most of the savings come from recompressing embedded images, so scanned documents shrink far more than typed ones. If the target can't be reached, the tool returns the smallest version it could produce rather than silently failing.
How your data is handled
The browser-based pass processes your file on your device. If you use the optional server compression fallback for stubborn files, that file is sent for processing and not retained afterwards.
